Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers, Today

The Laboratory for Innovative Technology in Education (LITE) was created to empower future educators through hands-on experiences with innovative instructional technologies, emerging digital tools, and evidence-based teaching practices.

Located in McLure Library within The University of Alabama’s College of Education, LITE serves as a hub for exploration, collaboration, and innovation. Through workshops, classroom partnerships, technology lending, research support, and outreach initiatives, LITE helps connect educational technology with meaningful teaching and learning experiences.

During its first academic year in McLure Library, LITE made a significant impact on pre-service teachers, faculty, P-12 educators, and students throughout the region. The statistics below highlight just a few of the ways LITE has supported educator preparation, enhanced classroom learning, and fostered new partnerships across the College of Education and beyond.

Explore the numbers and discover how LITE is helping prepare tomorrow’s teachers, today.
